Field Service Engineer – Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham- £35,000 – Opportunity for £45,000 with overtime
Crowcon Detection Instruments is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer, to join our growing team across the UK. This is a regional role covering London and the South East reporting to the Field Service Engineering Manager.
What will you be doing?
As a member of the Field Service Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service to all customers as well as attending customers sites to perform proactive maintenance, repairs and commissioning of our gas detection products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Servicing, calibrating and repairing gas detection equipment to the relevant standards.
- Ensure all serviced products are left fully operational, tested and complete service paperwork.
- Support other team members on jobs that require multiple engineers.
- Provide customer ‘user training’ when required.
- Work closely with the Service Admin team making sure jobs are scheduled efficiently and meeting customers’ requirements.
- Ensure service reports are completed accurately and submit them for invoicing on time.
- Complete RAM’s and POWRA’s when required.
- Responsible for and accountable for the van stock and calibration gases, ensuring that it is appropriate for the customer base in your region, and that ‘life critical’ components are cycled regularly to ensure we can offer a first-time fix where possible.
- Ensure all personal PPE is maintained within inspection expiry dates, all service clothing is clean and respectable at the start of the day, and all service equipment is ‘up to date’ and operational.
- Build strong relationships with Area Sales Managers, providing customer insight to support sales growth.
Your skills & experience
- Previous experience with fire alarm systems or other similar electronic devices, would be desirable.
- Previous Field Service Engineering experience would be an advantage, but not necessary.
- Instrument/electronic equipment service, troubleshoot/repair, commissioning and/or installation experience.
- HNC/HND in an electrical/electronic field or Equivalent understanding from work experience.
- Excellent customer communication skills in both writing and verbal.
- Working knowledge of control panel assembly and components, as well as PLC knowledge would an advantage, but not necessary.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Knowledge of RAM’s & POWRA’s.
- Confined Space, IPAF and Safety Passport is preferable, but training provided.
- Full driving license.
Full training on our products is provided, as well as extensive shadowing and support from our fully trained engineers.
